This blog aims to take words used in the Bible and examine them through the lens of Scripture. The title of the blog is taken from:
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Some forty authors wrote the canon of the Bible, mostly Israelites, all of them inspired. The apostle Peter writes:
Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:20-21)
A prophet is one who speaks for God, thus God speaks through Scripture and it is revealed truth. If this blog excites anyone to read, return to or delight in the Bible then it will have served its purpose.
